When a roof reaches the end of its life, slapping new shingles over old ones isn't the answer. We do full tear-offs - every last piece of the old material comes off before anything new goes down. That's the only way to know exactly what you're working with underneath.

And what we find underneath matters a lot. On this job, we found rotted and deteriorated decking sections that never would have been caught with a simple overlay. We cut out the damaged areas and replaced the sheathing before moving forward. Skipping that step would have been a disservice to the homeowner - you can't build a solid roof on a compromised base.

Once the deck was solid and the underlayment was down, we staged GAF Timberline HD shingles across the roof and got to work. GAF Timberline HD is one of the most trusted shingles on the market - known for their durability and dimensional look. The finished result is a clean, charcoal gray roof that looks sharp and, more importantly, is built to last.

The details matter too. We installed new step flashing along the chimney and sealed it properly. Chimney transitions are one of the most common spots for water intrusion on older homes. Getting that right is just as important as the shingles themselves.

If your roof is curling, cracking, or just plain aging out, a full roofing installation is worth looking into. A proper replacement - done from the deck up - gives your home real, lasting protection. That's what we're here for.
